Can I get declined right now?

A photo of Anonymous Anonymous
I currently have a 68 in functions and I am going to re take it in private school next semester. I am just wondering if a university like Ryerson would look at the 68 right now and decline me, would I have to contact them and tell them that I am retaking the course?

Unless the program you are applying to has a minimum mark threshold for functions, the only thing Ryerson is going to care about is that a) you graduate with your OSSD, b) your overall average is competitive, and c) you pass any prerequisite courses. Assuming all that is true then all you need to do is pass the course.

If you do decide to retake the course, I don't think you need to tell them. You will need to amend your OUAC application however where it asks about all the schools you have attended and the Private school will have to send in your marks.

You're in grade 11, dude. Just pass. No one gives a sh!t about those marks.

I assume the OP is in grade 12 and by "functions" they really mean "adv functions".

You most likely will not get declined right now. They will probably review your application later on when Semester 2 midterms are released. You can potentially take it again next semester if things don't work out.
