Do universities care if a course was taken in summer school?
I am considering taking English 12 in summer school (between grade 11 and 12). I know that Waterloo does consider whether a course was taken as a summer/night/online course, at least for their engineering programs. Do other post-secondary institutions adjust your scores if specific courses were not taken during the regular school year?

Queen's Engineering Acceptances 2019
Hey I thought I'd start a discussion for Queen's engineering acceptances this year.
Please post the following:
When you got accepted?
What was your admission average?
What program? (General or direct entry to electrical and computing)
Anything else you want to add

Queen's Engineering 2019 Acceptances
So right now I have around a 92-93% average.
I'd say my PSE is pretty strong.
I applied in early December.
What do you think my chances are?
Have any of you gotten in?
If so please post your average, if you did a PSE, and the date you got accepted.
Thank you!
cs/software eng universities
I have Waterloo, UofT and uOttawa as my top three, does anyone have any input on any other good schools for cs/softEng or even ECE other than the three I listed? Co-op available to the program would be preferred.

Which/When do universities look at your marks for admission
I was wondering when universities look at your marks. I'm from BC where our school year is split into 3 terms. I've already taken, English 12, retaking chem 12 and math 12. I plan to get into engineering at McMaster but my calc mark is extremely low for term 1. So my question is, do they look at the term 1 mark first or term 2 mark for admission?

Waterloo Mechatronics/Computer Science/Computer Egineering admission chances for 2019
Hello everyone I am going into grade 12 this coming September and I am very scared and nervous of my chances of getting into certain programs/universities that interest me. I am hugely interested in the mechatronics egineering program at University of Waterloo but I would also like to get into computer science or computer egineering program at Waterloo if I were not admitted for mechatronics. Could someone please tell me if I have weak/decent/strong extracurriculars and what would be a good enough average to get into one of the three programs I mentioned.

These are my expected or earned  marks for my courses
Advanced functions - 85%(earned and ik its horrible had a teacher not to my liking who really made it harder on us compared to other teachers)
Calculus and vectors -90% to 95% (expected)
Physics- 90% to 95%(expected)
Chemistry - 90% to 95%(expected)
Computer science - 98% to 100%(expected)
English- 90% to 95%;(expected)

- member of my school chess team practises are once a week for one hour and we participate in various tournaments with other schools (almost two years)

- part of the math club/matheletes at my school  where we meet once a week for 1.5 hours trying to solve various difficult math problems while studying for various  Waterloo math contests like the Euclid and Canadian senior math contests. We also help tutor other kids who might be struggling with their classes. (almost three years)

- will be joining the prom crew for grade 12 which we plan/organize our schools prom also advertising the event and trying to sell tickets.  Will also be joining the av crew were we set up assembly’s for our school by organizing the seating plans, setting up equipment like projectors, sound tech, microphones and lighting.

Highschool Co-op
Hey everyone,

Hope all is well.

This semester I'm taking co-op and I'm having trouble finding a placement related to engineering and or architecture. I was wondering if anyone out there would happen to know someone that I could connect with to talk more about a possible co-op placement.

Please let me know! Thank you so much!

Mechatronics Waterloo 2019 admission average
Hey Guys,
What is the likely admission average for Waterloo Mechtronics in 2019? I heard from an admissions officers that if you have a 97.83 avg, you have an 85% chance of getting in. My average is also coincidentally 97.8. Do you think think that I can get in with Average ec's (3/5) and decent interview (2/3), or do i have to put more importance on my ec's?
I also wanna get a very good Euclid score (80+). So with good avg, good euclid, average ec's/interview.... what are my chances? what is the overall admission average going to be for 2019 btw :)

Side Projects for Waterloo Egineering
For those who applied and were accepted into waterloo egineering particularly for programs like software, computer and mechatronics did you guys have any side projects that you yourself devolped or made that you mentioned on your application  such as apps, video games, websites and robotics like arduino.
Also how did you show  your projects on your application  did you just tell them and the application commitee took your word for it or did you have to , provide them with pics/vids and code really curious on how you guys presented them. Currently I have a few side projects that include video games, a website and with arduino and was wondering the best way to present on application to Waterloo and I feel like your answers could also help others applying to Waterloo and to other universities.

Waterloo Electrical Engineering First Year Coop
Hi,
I'm going to Waterloo for ECE in Stream 8 and I was wondering how first year coop is for ECEs? Is it hard to find one and what type of job do they typically get?
A photo of Anonymous Anonymous
Do they mean overall or individual?
Carleton says i need to maintain a 72% average for electrical engineering, and it shows the prerequisites. I'm not sure if they mean overall or individual, it doesn't say. The courses are English, chem, physics, calculus, and functions.

York Engineering or Ryerson Engineering
please tell me which is a better engineering program and why

University of Calgary vs University of Alberta Engineering Coop
Hey everyone, Im from Calgary but I'm stuck between choosing UofC and UofA for Engineering as I have been accepted into both. I am hoping to do Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Looking for any input or advice from anyone going to UofA or UofC that is doing coop engineering! Thank you!
Western engineering or Ottawa engineering
I'm not going to be doing coop so what would be the better choice? I know western is a higher rated school overall so idk about ottawa

McMaster IBEHS or Waterloo Electrical Engineering?
If I accept IBEHS at Mac, I would probably choose Electrical and Biomedical Engineering in second year.  Which program do you guys think offers more/better opportunities, better education,  University life,  and ultimately which program is worth going to.

Queen's Engineering 2018 Acceptances
Hello!  I was wondering if any of the high school class of 2018 has heard back from Queen's engineering and if you have, what was your top 5 average?? :)

I was also wondering if I have any chance of being admitted if my marks are....
AP Chemistry: 88% (final)
AP Physics: 92% (in progress)
AP Calculus: 94% (in progress)
English (not AP): 90% (in progress)
AP Statistics (data management): 95% (final)
Average: 91.8%

Edit: turns out I actually have a 92 in physics :))
Also, this doesn't go into the calculation of my average but if it helps I have a final mark of 93% in Advanced Functions

My ECs are decent, and I wrote all my AP's on my PSE so Queen's will know that I took them.  I would say that my PSE is average, maybe slightly above average, although I know that this is very subjective. This was only my first submission average so hopefully I will be able to get it to 92.8% at least by April.  Do you think I could possibly get in?

UPDATE: I GOT ACCEPTED!!!!!!!!!!! (on Feb 28th)
